Annie Higgins' music is a fresh spin on the best of acoustic soul, acid jazz, funk and reggae.

The songs are driven by the groove but add a uniquely Australian sound with stand out female vocals and creative sonic sounds. The music still celebrates the original illustrious sounds of the Wa Wa, Hammond organ, brass classics, and heartfelt bass but departs from older synths to a coastal acoustic feel. Her album 'Wise Woman' is due for release by her label Underfoot Records in 2022 with twelve new songs, with a single being released from August 2021.

This album was born after two years of writing, celebrating and mulling over conversations about motherhood, brilliant dreams, loss and surprises. I wrote songs I would want to hear. Now with Covid it's all about realising what's truly important and not sweating the small stuff." Annie Higgins

Annie Higgins and Luke Gerber met up to write and produce an honest acoustic groove vibe that is essentially Australian with funk, soul and jazz influences. They brought together talented musicians on the album such as Jeff De Araujo on drums and percussion, Sean Venezuala  on keys, Nathan and Jacob Parks on Trombone, Saxophone and flute, Jesse Tachibana on Trumpet (players from Thunderfox and Hot Potato Bands.) Produced and engineered by Mic. Hardwick at Underfoot Studios, who has woven together with the unique sonic signature for Annie.

It's been a creative and fun process, making the sort of music I want to hear and share with my friends over a beer or wine.
